Interview - Mr. Dan Glatman

Y.C.C.M.H. - Hello Sir. Let´start with a quick introduction, shall we? Please, introduce yourself.
Dan Glatman - My name is Dan Glatman and I´m the founder of 90:10.

Y.C.C.M.H. - Where are you located and what do you do?
D. G. - I live in London and I´m having a massive career change. I made my name as a pop music manager but now I´ve decided to leave the music business and launch a clothing brand.

Y.C.C.M.H. - Where´d you get your start and what inspired you?
D. G. - When I was at university I met this record producer. That was my start in the music business. Before that, I'd read Richard Branson´s biography as a kid. It inspired me to flunk school in an attemptto make it in the real World. I went on to make a success of my life but it could so easily have gone the wrong way! I am not proud of flunking school but luckily things turned out ok...

Y.C.C.M.H. - We´re talking fashion here, so describe your style.
D. G. - Trying to look good without looking like I'm trying too hard... A look has to appear effortless in my opinion, otherwise you look like you are trying too hard.

Y.C.C.M.H. - Who or what inspired your sense of style growing up?
D. G. - No one in particular. I've never really tried to look like anyone else... If it feels and looks right, wear it! If it doesn´t, then take it off!

Y.C.C.M.H. - Have you been to a fashion show before?
D. G. - Yes. Fashion rocks, London Fashion Week and one or two others.

Y.C.C.M.H. - Back to your brand. For advertising 90:10, what would you choose: Digital or film?
D. G. - Can I say both? Digital because it is now the way of the World. Film because you can´t beat a bit of beautifully shot film in an attempt to get your message over.

Y.C.C.M.H. - Favorite article of clothing from your collection.
D. G. -  The 90:10 signature pullover hoodie. It´s the most comfortable item of clothing that I own. I never take it off.

Y.C.C.M.H. - What´s the most inspiring you´ve seen lately?
D. G. - It was a quote from Steve Jobs "Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently - they're not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do."

Y.C.C.M.H. - Favorite designer? And while we´re at it, what´s the brand that you identify yourself more with?
D. G. - I love Dolce & Gabbana. When I was Blue´s manager we worked with those guys a lot. They always made the band look awesome and in the flesh they were also really nice guys. These days, one of my favorite brands is Belstaff (picture below). Pure quality meets pure class.

Y.C.C.M.H. - What is the most important accessory for a man?
D. G. - Right now, it´s really cold in the U. K. so my hat is an absolute must.

Y.C.C.M.H. - What would be the playlist to your 1st fashion show?
D. G. - Calvin Harris, Knife Party, Chase & Status (pictured below).

Y.C.C.M.H. - Where´s your favorite place to escape and maybe, get inspired?
D. G. - Some of my most eureka moments have come whilst walking my dog. Time to think is so important in life, particulary, in creative industries.

Y.C.C.M.H. - What do You live for?
D. G. - I have a beautiful wife called Bronnie and 2 gorgeous daughters, Poppy and Matilda. Bronnie is expecting our 3rd child at the end of April... need I say more?

Y.C.C.M.H. - Favorite cocktail? (just because)
D. G. - Mojitos!

Y.C.C.M.H. - Anything else that you feel like sharing?
D. G. - As we talk, Bronnie is watching Sean Penn on TV being interviewed... He's still got it that guy....
