Met Ball 2014 | Editor´s Pick

In this last Monday (05.05.2014) happened the MET gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York, which includes the most anticipated red carpet of the year in the fashion world (or so they say). This 2014 edition celebrated the exhibition: "Charles James: Beyond Fashion", as well as the reopening of The Costume Institute, which has undergone renovations and now reopens as "Anna Wintour Costume Center".
After a fair amount of, well, ridiculous outfits on last year´s punk themed red carpet, this year's Met Ball saw a return to slicker, more traditional black tie, in the form of ultra-classic white tie for traditionalists and white dinner jackets for the more fashion-forward attendees (good job Frank Ocean!).
Here are my favorite looks from the night of one of the strongest red carpets of recent years.

Diana Kruger and Joshua Jackson.
Anne Hathaway (looking lovely in Calvin Klein) and Francisco Costa.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds (wearing Gucci).
Douglas Booth in Burberry.
Eddie Redmayne wearing Burberry.
Dude on the right looks great.
Matt Bomer A.K.A Ken Doll in Calvin Klein.
Maxwell Osborne, Jenna Lyons, and Dao-Yi Chow.
Jay-Z (in Givenchy) and Beyoncé.
Tom Ford (possibly in Tom Ford) and Benedict Cumberbatch in Ralph Lauren.
Chiwetel Eljiofor.
Frank Ocean wearing Givenchy.
The Supreme and Marc Jacobs (in Saint Laurent Paris).
Prabal Gurung in Antonio Azzuolo.
Riccardo Tisci in Givenchy and Naomi Campbell.
Todd Spiewak and Jim Parsons wearing Brooks Brothers.
David (in Ralph Lauren) and Victoria Beckham.
Hugh Jackman (wearing Tom ford) and Deborra-Lee Furness.

And the lovely ladies that made the night a lot cooler (wearing Stella Mccartney).
Reese Witherspoon, Kate Bosworth, Stella Mccartney and Cara Delevingne.

Reese Witherspoon, Kate Bosworth, Rihanna (cough cough) and Cara Delevingne.
Stella Mccartney, Rihanna and Cara Delevingne (cough).
Stella Mccartney (c´mon), Rihanna and Cara Delevingne.
Reese Witherspoon, Stella Mccartney (another one?), Kate Bosworth and Cara Delevingne.

Yeah, there was a lot of butt grabbing...

Met Gala 2013 | Editor´s Pick

The Met Gala 2013 theme was “Punk – From Chaos To Culture”. In my opinion, without not enough punk, but certainly a lot of chaotic attires. Here´s my choices on the best dressed males.
Colin Firth in Tom Ford
Derek Blasberg
Eddie Redmayne in Dior Homme - Best Dressed
Frank Ocean in Givenchy
Jason Wu [take the belt off next time, tho´]
Erdem Moralioglu
Riccardo Tisci in Givenchy
Jimmy Fallon in Saint Laurent
Nicholas Hoult in Tom Ford - Best Dressed (I don´t care that I have 2)
Pharrell W. in Lanvin
Prabal Gurung (he looks great. Trust me)
Gilles Mendel
Kanye West in Givenchy [what the hell, Kim?]
Tobey McGuire in Saint Laurent

The best dressed ladies. These two actually took the theme to heart. Well done!
Cara D. in Burberry
Rooney Mara in Givenchy

And the worst. Again. Two years in a row. Congratulations Marc [sarcasm].

Met Costume Gala 2012: Best Dressed

I think that this year the gentlemen killed it. The lovely ladies... not so much. The Givenchy gown that Beyonce wore will hunt me for a few days.
Now of to my list.

Colin Firth in Prada (best look)
Hugh Dancy in Prada (best couple)
Aziz Ansari (best date)
Darren Criss in Calvin Klein Collection
Will Arnett in Calvin Klein
Prabal Gurung
Kanye West in Givenchy
Justin Timberlake in Tom Ford
Riccardo Tisci in Givenchy (duh) and the dude behind him
Gilles Mendel looking fantastic
Adrien Brody in Prada
Daniel Radcliffe wearing a tuxedo by Antonio Azzuolo

Note: Tom Brady was great from the waist up. The pants got him out of the list. Everyone with untailored pants is also out (sorry Matt Bomer, Chace Crawford, ...).
I almost forgot. Quoting Marc Jacobs, "I just didn´t want to wear a tuxedo and be boring.". I´ll let you decide what to think about this.
