Met Ball 2014 | Editor´s Pick

In this last Monday (05.05.2014) happened the MET gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York, which includes the most anticipated red carpet of the year in the fashion world (or so they say). This 2014 edition celebrated the exhibition: "Charles James: Beyond Fashion", as well as the reopening of The Costume Institute, which has undergone renovations and now reopens as "Anna Wintour Costume Center".
After a fair amount of, well, ridiculous outfits on last year´s punk themed red carpet, this year's Met Ball saw a return to slicker, more traditional black tie, in the form of ultra-classic white tie for traditionalists and white dinner jackets for the more fashion-forward attendees (good job Frank Ocean!).
Here are my favorite looks from the night of one of the strongest red carpets of recent years.

Diana Kruger and Joshua Jackson.
Anne Hathaway (looking lovely in Calvin Klein) and Francisco Costa.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds (wearing Gucci).
Douglas Booth in Burberry.
Eddie Redmayne wearing Burberry.
Dude on the right looks great.
Matt Bomer A.K.A Ken Doll in Calvin Klein.
Maxwell Osborne, Jenna Lyons, and Dao-Yi Chow.
Jay-Z (in Givenchy) and Beyoncé.
Tom Ford (possibly in Tom Ford) and Benedict Cumberbatch in Ralph Lauren.
Chiwetel Eljiofor.
Frank Ocean wearing Givenchy.
The Supreme and Marc Jacobs (in Saint Laurent Paris).
Prabal Gurung in Antonio Azzuolo.
Riccardo Tisci in Givenchy and Naomi Campbell.
Todd Spiewak and Jim Parsons wearing Brooks Brothers.
David (in Ralph Lauren) and Victoria Beckham.
Hugh Jackman (wearing Tom ford) and Deborra-Lee Furness.

And the lovely ladies that made the night a lot cooler (wearing Stella Mccartney).
Reese Witherspoon, Kate Bosworth, Stella Mccartney and Cara Delevingne.

Reese Witherspoon, Kate Bosworth, Rihanna (cough cough) and Cara Delevingne.
Stella Mccartney, Rihanna and Cara Delevingne (cough).
Stella Mccartney (c´mon), Rihanna and Cara Delevingne.
Reese Witherspoon, Stella Mccartney (another one?), Kate Bosworth and Cara Delevingne.

Yeah, there was a lot of butt grabbing...

Giveaway: 2 Pairs of Classic Series Glasses from Firmoo

Want to know a secret? I wear glasses. I don´t think that I can remember not seeing me in them. I actually tried to wear contacts but that didn´t work out very well. It actually didn´t work, really. And the older I get, the more time I find myself in my glasses. I actually don´t care. Frames are great and they can make your look stand out. And if Beckham wears frames, you just know that geeky chic is trending.

So, I was actually quite interested when Firmoo contacted me about doing a giveaway. Probably there´s more like me that could use a free pair. More money for clothes, right?

And you´re like "What the hell is Firmoo"? Well, Firmoo is an on-line prescription and sunglasses company. They are committed  to offering customers the best quality products at the most affordable prices.  Their glasses run 80 to 90% less than the average glasses store. They also have an awesome program  for new customers to test their products and service for free by paying shipping only (more money for clothes, get it?).

Another great feature of the website is that you can easily upload a photo of yourself and then "try" your glasses choice to see what they'll look like on you. That´s kinda dope! (l´m getting so hipster). It´s so easy that I actually managed to use it. It didn´t even show that funny messages like "Error" or "You´re stupid. Try it again".

[I'm thinking of getting these.]

But yeah, you probably don´t care. So, let´s see where you enter, shall we?  Firmoo is giving away TWO pairs, I repeat, TWO pairs of frames, selected at http://www.firmoo.com/classic-series.html.
[Two winners in total and each will win a pair]
Eyeglasses include 1.50 single vision lenses and sunglasses include zero-powered lenses! Prizes DON´T include shipping, so winners have to actually pay something. But really, new glasses for the price of shipping? (i´ll ask my mommy to pay for it)

More good news? If there´s over 50 valid competitors they’ll offer an EXTRA pair of free glasses OR sunglasses including shipping to the luckiest winner! So, 3 prizes if the giveaway gets 50+ valid participants! I´m awesome or what? Well, I´m not, but Firmoo is, so whateves!
Only entries within the Firmoo delivery range will be valid so please double check here: http://www.firmoo.com/help-c-10.shtml

Note: This giveaway will run until Sunday, August 18th.  Winners will be announced via e-mail and here on the Rafflecopter widget.

Gifts for Him | Editor´s Pick

"Hey C., it´s my boyfriend´s birthday and I need your help. I don´t know what to get him and I´m desperate."

"C. I need your help. It´s my dumbass brother´s birthday and I don´t know what to offer him. Please help!"

Questions like those are usually in my email or my tumblr´s message box, so for once and for all, I decided to go all GQ on you and make a post about it.
Buying stuff for your special guy, for your "dumbass" brother or even your father (also include all the other male relatives and friends that you can think off), is not rocket science, but well, I can get it. Sometimes, they just seem to have everything, which leaves you wondering what to get him for his birthday or Christmas or Hanukkah or Children´s day, right
Does the man in your life have a selection of power tools that are collecting dust instead of creating it?
My selection includes some of the best gifts your dude needs, so let´s just not risk another disappointing gift by perusing the selection we have here, shall we?

Cufflinks

At one time, every well-dressed man needed a good set of cufflinks to complete his outfit. When buttons took over, they seemed to dwindle away for all but the most prolific of wearers. Well, they are back in style now and even better than they were. Cufflinks now come in a dizzying selection from plain to dazzling. Pick out a simple striped cufflink or go all out with a set of Indy race cars. No matter what taste or style your man has, there is sure to be something in the line of cufflinks that will please him.
[You can also get it custom: http://www.cuffwear.com/en/]

Leather Gloves

No man will resist wearing a sleek, warm pair of finely crafted leather gloves. They keep the hands warm in the winter while brushing the snow off the car, and they allow a good, firm grip on the wheel while driving. Purchase good quality, leather gloves for lasting enjoyment.
[Just show him the pictures below. Trust me]

E-Cigarettes

Not all that fashionable but still a great gift for a guy is an electronic cigarette. They are the latest device to aid a person in quitting smoking. They contain an e-liquid inside a device that looks like a real cigarette. When inhaled, the liquid is heated and converts into a type of “smoke” that a smoker inhales. There are no toxic chemicals in these; only natural ingredients that help the smoker kick the habit. buy electronic cigarettes.
[I´m actually getting this one as a Christmas gift for my father. Find it here: http://www.180smoke.com/]

Designer Scarf

So, he actually can dress himself in a stylish manner with coordinating colors and matching shoes. But can he accessorize? Help him out!
If you know what coat he wears regularly, purchase a stylish, designer scarf to go with that winter coat, or just go with a simple one tone that he can match with everything.

Fragrances

Men like to smell great too ok? They´re into the latest designer fragrances that are on the market now, as much as you do, so just find him something fresh and tasteful, and he´ll love it. If it´s for your "dumbass" brother, try to find it on sale or something.

Single-Malt Scotch

If you enjoy whiskey, you will know how enjoyable fine, single-malt scotch tastes. The sky is virtually the limit with prices but there are some really good and affordable whiskeys that you can indulge yourself with. Share a drink with your loved one or friends; they are sure to enjoy a nice social gathering while discussing the latest fashion trends or sports teams. Don't forget a set of crystal rock glasses to go with the scotch.

Designer Bags

Make sure that he actually uses one, tho´. Then just go for something simple, that he can use and easily match with different attires. Make sure that the bag suits his needs.
You have articles that go from affordable brands like Zara or Fred Perry, to the ones that will leave you a lot lighter (talking about bank account), like Louis Vuitton, Prorsum or my personal favourite, Bottega Veneta.

Designer Sunglasses

Everyone needs a pair, so just go for the classics. My advice is Ray-Ban (clubsmaster, aviators or wayfarer) or Persol.
Make sure that you take a picture of him, so the sales clerk will help you choosing the best option for his anatomy.
I actually already have a post with my personal favorites, so don´t be lazy and find it. Just sayin´...
